Young Aussie riders in the World Youth Rankings

Young Australian dressage riders are making increasingly common appearances in the FEI Dressage World Rankings, with the latest update revealing 30 Aussie riders in the top 100 across the Under 25, Young Rider, Junior, Pony and Children’s categories.

FEI Dressage World Youth Ranking – J

In the Junior rankings, Maddison Vallender and Rubinell are at an incredible #3 in the world, up from #4 last month. With 1753 points, they are are not far off the German and Danish combinations, who are on 1896 and 1833 points respectively.

Tia Rose McKenzie and Phenomenon are #13, with Angelina Thompson and Arnage Royal Edition (#69), Emma Hutchinson and Freshman R (#80), Isabella Anderson and Fortune Cookie (#95), and Zoe Nelson and AEA Prestino (#98) all in the top 100 as well.

FEI Dressage World Youth Ranking – Y

Gaining plenty of international competition of late is Kate Kyros and stallion Intro K, who are currently based in Europe and recently enjoyed success in Portugal. This combination is at #5 in the Young Rider rankings.

Jess Dertell and Kilimanjaro are at #11, while Tia Rose McKenzie and Franzisco RW are at #13.

FEI Dressage World Youth Ranking – U25

Maddison Vallender is also the highest placed Aussie in the Under-25 rankings, and is at #25 with Ronan R.

Also in the top 100 are Amy Bachmann and SWS Debutante (#53), Bridgette Dalmau and Bon Jovi MH (#57), Kate Kyros and Chemistry (#70), Dana Krause and Taittinger VDS (#78), and Tyla Schou with Dennis Deniro (#92).

FEI Dressage World Youth Ranking – P

With CDI Pony classes increasing in Australia, there has been greater opportunity for riders to collect points towards this ranking.

Abby Weel and the imported Reitlands Obama are the highest-ranked Aussie combination at #54, followed by Tess Baker and Hilkens No Kidding (#70), and Isabella Anderson with Boronia Applause at #96.

FEI Dressage World Youth Ranking – Ch

CDI Childrens classes are now also far more commonplace in Australia, and consequently we have a very impressive number of young stars in the World Youth Rankings for this category – 12, in fact!

Amelia Maree and Sunny Morning R are the highest ranked at #14, followed by Isla Oxley and Enbarr (#44), Milla Greenaway and SPB Robert Redford (#45), and Olivia Roberts with Chapel House Gwilym (#49) all inside the top 50. A further eight combinations made the top 100: Billie Bellett and Silkwood Eclipse (#57), Amelia Maree and Noble Dancer (#68), Elouise Grills and Moonlight Sonata (#80), Abbey Restall and Urodel du Texier (#86), Layla Kropp and Bangalow Gold (#90), Matia Hopwood and Jingle Belle (#94), Keely Keet and Sebago (#99), and Liza Smith and Nawarrah Park Dita Von Teese (#100).

Mary Hanna and Ivanhoe the highest ranked Aussies in the FEI Dressage World Rankings for CDI3* and above

Fresh from competing at the FEI World Cup Final in Basel, Olympian Mary Hanna is the highest ranked Aussie athlete in the FEI Dressage World Ranking – Athletes (CDI3*/CDIO3* and above) category at #48. Her dance partner Ivanhoe is the highest ranked in the equivalent category for horses, at #50.

Jemma Heran is also in the top 100 of the Athlete rankings at #87, up from #155. Her horse, Total Recall, is at #90 – up from #183.
