PSI Dressage & Jumping with the Stars begins at Werribee

The much-anticipated 2022 PSI Dressage & Jumping with the Stars got underway at Werribee today, with a range of competitors in action – from young stars to seasoned campaigners.

The Prix St Georges Cup for Small Tour horses kicked of proceedings, with Willinga Park’s Jayden Brown claiming the win aboard WillingaPark Quincy B on 77.647%; the pair are certainly proving to be difficult to beat at the level, following their wins at Boneo in January and Willinga Park last month. Second place went to Alex Hellyer and Daenarys on 72.304%, while Justine Greer and Yarramee Fonzie were third on 71.961%.

In the Young Dressage Horse classes, the Commanded Test for 4 Year Old Young Dressage Horses went to JMH Frankly on 85%,ridden by Emma Haywood, while the Preliminary Test for 7 Year Old Young Dressage Horses went to WillingaPark Fangio and Jayden Brown on 76.843%.

In the Young Dressage Pony classes, Mr Right Now won the Commanded Test for 4 Year Old Dressage Ponies, ridden to a score of 84.8% by Caitlyn Porter. The  Commanded Test for 5 Year Old Dressage Ponies went to Brookside Grand Illusion on 83.4%, ridden by Leisha Salter (AOR), while the Commanded Test for 6 Year Old Dressage Ponies went to Brookside Shazam and Annie Creed on 77.8%.

The 4 & 5 Year Old Young Event Horse Championship was won by Neat N Tidy, ridden by veterinarian Rohan Luxmoore, while the 6 & 7 Year Old Young Event Horse Championship went to Chris Height and Prince Alfred.

In the show jumping arena, round one of the 4 Year Old Young Jumping Horse class went to Yandoo Evergreen and Jamie Winning-Kermond on a score of 87%; round one of the 5 Year Old Young Jumping Horse class went to Yalambi’s Messiah and Caitlin Bolger on 89.166%; round one of the 6 Year Old Young Jumping Horse class went to ES Casello and Conor Reed on 88.666%; and round one of the 7 Year Old Young Jumping Horse class went to Diamond B Bedazzled, ridden by our current Australian Senior Jumping Champion, Olivia Hamood. Bedazzled scored 89.166%.

To the seasoned jumpers, and it was Rhys Stones aboard Othello MVNZ that took out the Current Stars after producing the fastest clear. In other classes, the 110cm Championship went to Airlie Robinson and Yalambi’s Corlandia. The 120cm Championship World Cup warm up class were still underway at time of writing.

12.15-12.30pm: Presentation

12.30-1.50pm: P.S.I. 4-Year-Old Dressage Horse Second Round

1.50-2.10pm: Presentations

2.10-3.00: P.S.I. 6-Year-Old Dressage Horse First Round

3.10-4.40pm: Grand Prix CDI-W

5.10-6.30pm: Jumping World Cup Qualifier
