Mark Buttsworth & One Stylish Pepto maintain Gold Buckle lead

Mark Buttsworth has maintained his lead after Round 2 of the Ringers Western Gold Buckle Campdraft Championship at Willinga Park, finishing on an aggregate score of 181.67 with One Stylish Pepto. On Thursday, the pair scored 23.33 for the cut out, 62.67 for horse work and 4 for the course, adding to Wednesday’s Round 1 score of 91.67 to form their aggregate. Mark also took second place on One Stylish Madonna with an aggregate of 178.

Hugh Miles and Chic Acres were next on 177.67, with Michael Hiscock and Mewburn Bewick, and Pete Comiskey and Ervine’s Just Jim finishing on the same score. Next was Pete again, this time with Rebel Mama, and Troy Palmer riding Hell’s a Comin’ – both on 177.33 – and then Peter Boulton and Gifted Spin, Ken Boulton and Mewburn Tina Arena, and Ben McNaughton on Always Again, all on 176.67 to round out the top ten.

Today, 101 combinations will head into the clean slate semi-final, which got underway at 12:30pm AEST.

Also on Thursday, the Feature Cut-Out qualifier saw Kenielle Bechaz and Overtime, and Phillip Collins riding Yavern Moore Ice share the lead on 24.5, with Mark Buttsworth and One Stylish Pepto one of three combinations to sit just behind them on 24.

The Feature Cut-Out Final takes place tonight from 6.30pm AEST.
