Jayden Brown and the Willinga Park team are on their way to England
Australian dressage rider Jayden Brown is on his way to England with six Willinga Park horses, where he’ll base himself for a couple of years ahead of the FEI World Championships in August and the Paris Olympics in 2024.
“As I sit in the airport, about to board my flight to get ahead of the horses and prepare for their arrival, I can’t help but feel incredibly grateful for the people who have supported me in this journey,” said Jayden via social media.
“Willinga Park and Terry (Snow) for always encouraging me to set bold goals for myself and the horses. Ginette (Snow) for always keeping it real and making sure that the horses are the #1 priority in this incredibly journey.
“Grooms Maddie and Lillie and Sarah Cookson thanks for allowing me to travel ahead of the horses, trusting that they are cared for and looked after in their travels. And IRT for arranging so much of this.
“Chedington Equestrian and particularly Bek Burton for answering all of my questions and giving great advice and recommendations to help us settle in. My family for their support, taking Eddie in to look after him for me and helping me with the pack up and move from my home of the last two years.
“When I took on the challenge of taking an entire team of horses across the world, I knew it would involve many challenges. To say the past few months has been a whirlwind of organising, making to-do lists and at times adding more things to the list than I was checking off.
“Thanks to the whole Willinga Park team and Donna Maree for helping me print labels, signs, stickers, and everything else to make sure we have everything organised.
“This is the 4th major move in 8 years, to chase a goal and improve myself in a career that I love. I’m very grateful for the opportunities to do this and also for my friends who are always there to support and encourage me. I can’t wait to share this journey with everyone, we will hit the ground running and hope to do the horses and Willinga Park proud.”
Jayden is entered for Wellington CDI (9-12 June), pending how the horses travel. You can re-watch his interview with Roger Fitzhardinge here.
We wish Jayden and the team the best of luck and look forward to following their journey!
