The first leg of the 2025-26 FEI Jumping World Cup Australian League season took place in Shepparton, Victoria on Saturday as part of the NVSJC World Cup Festival, and it was Gemma Creighton who clinched the win with Dada Des Brimbelles Z.

The in-form combination, who won the Peter Hoffman Memorial Cup at the NSW State Indoor Show Jumping Championships last month, were the only ones from a 17-horse field to produce a double clear in Shepparton. The closest Gemma and Dada had previously come to a World Cup win was a second place finish at Larapinta last year.

Dada Des Brimbelles Z (by Darco) is a French-bred gelding owned by Graham and Linda Huddy.

The 2024-25 FEI Jumping World Cup Australian League season winner Billy Raymont was second in the CSI1* World Cup qualifier with Caprino, while Madeline Sinderberry and Gredstedgaards Number One placed third. Both finished on four faults, with Billy posting the quickest time of the second round. Brook Dobbin and Devos GP finished fourth on four faults, with Tori Stuckey and Jaybee Ballon D’Or rounding out the top five on four faults.

Gemma Creighton finished third in the rankings following the 2024-25 season and was the league sub for the upcoming FEI Jumping World Cup Final in Basel, Switzerland. However, like first qualified athletes Billy Raymont and Sam Overton, Gemma elected not to travel to Europe for the final.

With a perfect start to the 2025-26 season, no doubt there are exciting times ahead for this combination!
