Australia and the Pacific League will be represented by Many Hanna and Ivanhoe, following the pair’s win in the FEI Dressage World Cup Pacific League Final at the Victorian Dressage Festival in December. Mary and Ivanhoe scored 76.560% to win the CDI-W Grand Prix Freestyle on that occasion.
Ivanhoe, by Desperado out of a Jazz mare, was recommended to Mary by Patrik Kittel in late 2022. She has since brought ‘Ivan’ up through Small Tour to Grand Prix, and the pair were the reserve combination for the Australian team at this year’s Paris Olympic Games.
Basel will be Mary’s sixth World Cup final, alongside Gothenburg, Sweden (1996), s’Hertogenbosch, Sweden (1997), and Gothenburg (1998) with Mosaic; Lyon, France (2014) with Sancette; and Gothenburg (2016) with Umbro.
You can read more about Mary and Ivanhoe in the Jan/Feb 2025 issue of Equestrian Life here.
