Equestrian events for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be held in Toowoomba.
Queensland Premier David Crisafulli and his deputy and Infrastructure Minister Jarrod Bleijie announced the news today, explaining that equestrian facilities at the Toowoomba Showgrounds will be developed and improved to accommodate the event.
Equestrian Queensland has partnered with the Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland to work on the development, which includes a master plan and business case to develop the Toowoomba Equestrian Centre of Excellence (TEC) at the showgrounds.
The TEC would offer the ability to host large scale equestrian events upward of 300 competitors at state, national, and international level, with fit-for-discipline competition surfaces. In addition to being a competition venue, the TEC will provide athlete pathways, rider education, and social and commercial opportunities to benefit the region.
