Aussie show jumping success in North America

Australian riders have continued with their success in North America, producing many outstanding top ten performances at Spruce Meadows CSI3* in Alberta, Canada, and Tryon CSI3* in North Carolina, USA.

Spruce Meadows CSI3*

Maddison Stephen aboard Yalambi’s Grazi were second in the Table A 1.30m at Spruce Meadows on Friday (10 June), before winning the Table A 1.30m from more than 60 competitors on Saturday (11 June). Only 14  combinations jumped clear in the first round to return for the jump off.  Maddison and Yalambi’s Grazi could not be caught in the jump off round with the duo posting a clear, quick time of 44.70s to take the win. On the Sunday, the pair won the Table A 1.30m yet again, capping off a very successful weekend!

Rowan Willis and Ashton Dakota were fourth.

Tryon CSI3*

Lauren Balcomb and Verdini D’Houtveld Z were second in the $139,000 CSI3* Grand Prix 1.50m on Saturday (11 June), gaining their World Championship MER. The class was won by Ireland’s Conor Swail and Vital Chance de la Roque. Lauren’s partner, Kiwi Sharn Wordley, finished fourth on Valentine Car. Earlier at the event, Lauren was second behind Conor on the $37,000 FEI Welcome Stake 1.50m — so a very successful weekend indeed!
