Rose Oatley and Daddy Moon win in Hagen

By Equestrian Life

Rose Oatley has won a national level Pony class (Pony Dressage Kl. L**) in Hagen, Germany, riding her long time partner Daddy Moon to an impressive score of 77.821% to claim victory. The win follows on from their success at the CDI4* in Lier, Belgium, early last month where they won all three Pony classes and Rose also claimed the Junior classes with Rock Revolution.

At Hagen, the 15-year-old also rode Rock Revolution in the Junior class (Junior Kl.M**) alongside 11-year-old stallion Veneno (Vitalis x Diamond Hit). With Veneno, Rose scored 73.553% for fifth, and with Rock Revolution she scored 71.491% for eighth in a very large class.

Veneno was originally purchased by Rose’s mother, Australian Olympian Kristy Oatley, in October 2019. The chestnut was bred by Rotraud Haarlammert and was previously owned by Belgian Anemone Samyn. He was first licensed for breeding at the 2014 Oldenburg Stallion Licensing in Vechta and he did his 30-day suitability test in Schlieckau in November 2015, scoring 8.26 for dressage and 7.20 for show jumping. While it was originally thought that perhaps Veneno was to be Kristy’s next Grand Prix mount, it looks as though Rose is at least planning to share some time in saddle!

Speaking after her success at Lier, Rose revealed she is aiming for the FEI Dressage European Championships for Children & U25, which will take place in Hungary in August.
