More success for Simone Pearce & Lyndal Oatley

By Equestrian Life

As the Tokyo Olympics draw nearer, Australian dressage riders Simone Pearce and Lyndal Oatley have both enjoyed further competition success overseas.

At Achleiten CDI4*, Simone rode Amandori to first place in the Grand Prix Freestyle with a score of 76.450%.

“This clever young guy has done it again, winning the Freestyle today at Achleiten CDI4* with 76.5% (we were both a little tired today and I didn’t ride to my fullest, which caused some unfortunate and costly mistakes) but I’m so incredibly proud of him, just 10 years old and now 4 consecutive international Grand Prix wins. What a little legend he is,  thank you so much to Gestüt Sprehe GmbH and Rueben Equestrian for giving me these amazing opportunities,” said Simone.

The win follows the pair’s victory in yesterday’s Grand Prix.

The class was won by Cathrin Dufour and Vamos Amigos on 76.489%, while Charlotte Fry and Everdale were second on 75.787%. Nanna Skodborg Merrald and Blur Hors Zack finished third on 73.170%.

The pair’s impressive score follows their 5th place and 71.457% in yesterday’s Grand Prix, where they ticked off their second qualifying score and are now up for possible Australian team selection for Tokyo.

Congratulations Simone and Lyndal!
