Molly secured her place following the final stage of the selection process at the Youth Olympic Games Final Selection Trial, held at Bimbadeen Park in NSW. The trial bought together four talented young riders for an assessment designed to mirror the borrowed horse format used at the Youth Olympic Games.
The four athletes invited to contest the final selection trial were:
- Eliza Baird
- Kaylee Stephens
- Malikah Rudge
- Molly Mooney
Selection as one of the four finalists marked a significant milestone, recognising the consistently strong performances each athlete produced throughout the qualification period.
Hosted by Shane and Nikki Rose at Bimbadeen Park, the two-day trial saw each rider partner with four different horses. The format allowed the National Jumping Selectors to evaluate each athlete’s adaptability, horsemanship, communication and ability to deliver quality performances across a variety of horses.
Following the assessment, Molly was confirmed as Australia’s representative for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
Equestrian Life wishes Molly Mooney the best of luck.
