Kevin McNab enjoys a successful weekend at Millstreet

It wasn’t just the Aussie young guns who put their best foot forward at Millstreet in recent days; Olympian Kevin McNab also enjoyed success, winning the CCI3*-S and placing third in the CCI4*-S.

Kevin McNab and Newmarket Amy finished at the top of the CCI3*-S leaderboard at Millstreet International Horse Trials in Ireland with a score of 34, adding just one jumping rail to their dressage score. They were the only combination under time on cross country.

In the CCI4*-S, Kevin rode Faro Imp to third place on 41.9. The duo produced a strong dressage score of 33.1 to place seventh following the initial phase and then added just 8.8 cross country time faults to their total on a course where no one made time.

Kevin and Faro Imp were recently named as reserves for Australia’s FEI World Championship eventing team.

Three top ten finishes for Isabel English

Isabel English and Cil Dara Bombay S, also FEI World Championship reserves, finished seventh with a score of 51 – producing a strong dressage mark of 33 and jumping clear in both phases. The combination cruised around the cross country with 18 time faults.

Isabel also enjoyed a top ten finish in the CCI3*-L with Cil Dara Dynamic, finishing fifth on 59.5 with just the one jumping rail and cross country time faults added to their dressage score.

In the CCI2*-L, Isabel rode Two Promises to ninth place on their dressage score of 31.8.

The FEI Eventing World Championship for U25 ran concurrently with the open classes at Millstreet International Horse Trials and saw Australians Lamoza Velisha and Brooke Dougall both finish inside the top twenty at their first major championship.
