The Saddlefitter Brisbane CDI (17-20 September) is being held at the Queensland State Equestrian Centre (QSEC) in Caboolture. Featuring international-level competition and doubling as the Queensland State Dressage Championships, the event promises an exciting four days of dressage action.
Competition commenced with the Small Tour horses for the Prix St Georges test. Katina Smith and 11-year-old Hanoverian BC Chilli Pepper (by Charmeur out of BC Willow) claimed victory in the Open division with a score of 69.529%. Jess Dertell and Highfields Bella Vita finished second on 68.647%, while Robert Schmerglatt and Hollandsbend Shangri La rounded out the podium in third place.
Katina also enjoyed success in the Preliminary Championship with BC Fallyn. The combination finished second in both tests, scoring above 71% on each occasion, to secure the championship title.

The Amateur Owner Rider (AOR) Prix St Georges was won by Kayla Webb and Kenlock Enfield Sky on 65.676%. Anne-Marie Lasserre and Valhalla 1 finished second, while Sarah Kassulke and Springside Eddison were third.
Jacqueline Huppert and Cognac Diamond won the Pony Prix St Georges with 69.118%, a score that would have placed them second in the Open division. Jacqueline also took out the Pony Preliminary Championship aboard Foxhunter Aegean Dream, winning the Preliminary 1.2 with 72.798% and the Preliminary 1.3 with 70.694%.

In the Intermediate A, Alexis Hellyer and Fidibus rose to the top, winning with a score of 66.824% ahead of Sally Evans and Nockturnal Desperados, and Robyne Smith with Lord Larry.
Alexis and Fidibus also contested the Intermediate II, finishing second behind Heather Currie and Quasir de Charry, who won the class with 65.765%.
The AOR Intermediate A was claimed by Lucinda Peacey and Revelwood Ovaltine on 64.824%, ahead of Trisha Sellers and Rakete.
Championship honours decided
Championship titles were also awarded across the Medium and Preliminary levels on Thursday.
The Open Medium Championship went to Lisel Dingley and Elmos Fire VIP (Estebar x Wolkentanz). The pair won the Medium 4.2 with a score of 70.270% and finished second in the Medium 4.3 on 69.872%.
Lisel sourced Elmos Fire VIP Leonie Bramall, who found the horse in Germany. He was imported to Australia in May 2024 as a rising six-year-old, with Lisel training him ever since. Lisel has previously trained her homebred gelding Carousel Oasis to Grand Prix – a horse that taught her a lot along the way. No doubt the eventual aim with Elmos Fire VIP will be the top level as well.
