Ingrid Klimke is without doubt one of the world’s best eventing riders, with Olympic gold medals to her name – however she is also a very talented dressage rider. At Wiesbaden CDI4*, the daughter of the late Reiner Klimke won the Grand Prix Freestyle with 11 year old Hanoverian stallion Franziskus with a score of 80.680%. It was Ingrid’s personal best Freestyle score.

The pair also won the Grand Prix class earlier at the event, again with a personal best Grand Prix score.

Second place in the Freestyle went to Sonke Rothenberger and Santiago R (80.040%), while Anja plonk and Tannenhof’s Fahrenheit were third (76.730%).

Could we see Ingrid Klimke on the German dressage team at an Olympic Games or WEG in the coming years?
