At CDI Munich in Germany, Simone Pearce and Will Marq (Rio Marq x Lanciano) led the way in both the CDI3* Grand Prix and Special.

The combination scored 71.892% in the Grand Prix and then continued their strong form to secure victory with a personal best score of 71.340% in the Special. The result means the combination has comfortably fulfilled the competition criteria component of Australia’s selection policy ahead of the FEI World Championships 2026 and are looking to be strong contenders for a team place.

Fellow Australians Hayley Beresford with Javino S and Jemma Heran with Total Recall also contested the CDI3* in Munich. Although both had some costly mistakes in the Grand Prix, both produced stronger performances in the Special, where Jemma and Total Recall finished fourth with 67.809%, and Hayley and Javino S were seventh with 66.872%.

In the CDI5* Grand Prix, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Times Kismet (Ampere x Lord Leatherdale) claimed victory with 74.522%. Raphael Netz and Great Escape Camelot (Johnson x Turbo Magic) finished second with 73.783%, while Benjamin Werndl and Quick Decision FRH (Quaterhall x Rotspon) placed third with 72.652%.

Alanna Richards enjoys strong CDI Grand Prix debut

Alanna Richards and Mist of Titanium OLD (Millenium x Diamonit) made a strong CDI debut at Aalborg in Denmark, finishing third in the CDI3* Grand Prix with 68.348%. Despite two costly mistakes – including a loss of balance in the first extended trot and errors in the one-tempis – the combination still produced plenty of promising work and will no doubt be pleased with a very impressive CDI debut.

As their score was “approaching or exceeding 68%” it counts as an FEI World Championship qualifying score as per the competition criteria in Australia’s selection policy.

In the Grand Prix Special the combination finished fifth with a solid score of 66.681%.
