Australians separated by less than 1% at Rotterdam in Grand Prix Special

Australian combinations delivered consistent performances in the CDI4* Grand Prix Special at CHIO Rotterdam, with less than one percent separating the three riders as Will Matthew and Faye 43 led the Aussie results.

Will Matthew and Faye 43 (Fuerst Wilhelm x Aljano) topped the Australian scores finishing on 66.915% with a costly mistake in the one tempis to finish eighth.

Alanna Richards and Mist of Titanium OLD (Millenium x Diamonit) were close behind on 66.724% with scores varying from 5.5 to 7.0 for extended trot, passage, passage transitions and piaffe. The combination finished ninth, less than 0.4% of their compatriot Warwick McLean and Le Special. The pair didn’t score a mark below 7 for any of their tempis today but had a costly mistake in the right canter pirouette to finish on 66.340% and tenth.

Becky Moody and Jagerbomb back on top

Great Britain’s Becky Moody and Jagerbomb (Dante Weltino x Jazz) won the RSV2 Dressage Prize Grand Prix Special with a great score of 77.575%. Whilst the combination started their test with 4’s across the board, they more than made up for it with countless 8.5’s and 9’s. In second was Dutch rider Dinja van Liere and Mauro Turfhorst N.O.P.T. (Zonik N.O.P x Negro) with 74.064%. The 9-year-old stallion had some green mistakes throughout the test but with only the combinations second start at CDI Grand Prix they are promising to be something special. In third was Belgium combination Larissa Pauluis and Flambeau (Ampere x Zoeliet) with 73.830%.

Jack Barker records top-30 finish in CSI2*

Jack Barker and Bellhaven Calisco finished 22nd in the CSI2* DHL Prize (1.40m against the clock) with just one time penalty for finishing .12 seconds over allowed time. With his second ride Oaks Cryptic, they finished well under time in 64.35 seconds but had a costly rail to finish 27th.

The class was won by Dutch combination, Lieselot Kooremans and Lola-Jay ES who finished the course in 60.96 seconds. In second was compatriot rider Siebe Leemans and Pippa Blue Z, finishing the course in 62.13 seconds and third was Swedish combination Marta Elander Wisten and Tullogher Lady Liberty, who finished the course in 62.15 seconds.
