The Australian eventing team is placed second in the CCIO4*S Nations Cup Eventing at CHIO Aachen following the dressage and jumping phases on Friday.
The Australian team recorded a total of 100.1, to sit just behind Great Britain on 96.3. The USA is in third on 102.1, so the points are close with cross country still to come on Saturday.
Chris Burton and Clever Louis are the highest placed of the Aussies, scoring 32.1 in the dressage and then jumping clear to place 13th. Just behind them in 14th is Andrew Barnett and Go Tosca on 32.5, with the pair also jumping clear.
Kevin McNab and Miss Pepperpot are 21st on 35.5 after having one rail down, while Andrew Hoy and Cadet de Beliard added two rails to their dressage score to finish the day on 43.1 in 34th place.
Michael Jung and fischerChipmunk FRH are the combination to beat, jumping clear to end the day on their dressage score of 22.5.
The cross country begins Saturday at 9.55am CEST, 5.55pm AEST.
