Amber Fuller wins Waratah Showjumping World Cup Qualifier

Amber Fuller and Nopal Van Tallaert have taken out the fifth World Cup Qualifier of the season, run by Waratah Showjumping and held at Sydney International Equestrian Centre.

Amber and ‘Nick’ were the only combination to record two clear rounds on Saturday, with the NSW rider recording her first World Cup win of the season.

Madeline Sinderberry – winner of the previous World Cup leg at Caboolture in June with Gredstedgaards Number One – finished second aboard Camie Z, while Billy Raymont and Caprino were third; both were clear in the first round but had a single rail each in the second to finish on four faults.

The next World Cup Qualifier takes place at Tamworth, NSW from 24-27 August.

Australian team claims Trans-Tasman Young Rider Challenge win

In other results at Waratah Showjumping, the Australian team claimed the win in the Equine International Air Freight Trans-Tasman Young Rider Challenge on Saturday.

The Australian team included Anneliese Wansey and Kinnordy Rhena, Ashley Cutler and Caitano, Alexandra Gostelow and Emcee Vagabond, and Hayden Parker riding Riverton Baluprint. Coco Miles was the Chef d’Equipe.

The New Zealand team was comprised of Liam Rutland and Myridersnota Rockstar, Samantha Gillies and Macleay Corella, Georgia Bouzaid and Kinnordy Ronsard, and Johanna Wylaars and Tulara Spangenberg.

The Australians carried a 13 point to 8 lead over New Zealand into the final and were well placed to take the series win. In the final, the Australian team ended up on 12 faults for the night, with the New Zealanders on a total of 18 faults. This translated to Australia gaining 5 competition points, while New Zealand gained 3 points. The final scores in the competition were Australia 18 to New Zealand 11.
