Sharon Jarvis on the podium at Addington CPEDI

Paralympian Sharon Jarvis has finished on the podium at Addington CPEDI in the UK, scoring 71.481% aboard Furst Crusador to place second in the CPEDI3* Grade IV Grand Prix A test.

Sharon the Shroomy also contested the CPEDI3* Grade IV Grand Prix B, scoring 67.613% for fifth place.

As Bridget Murphy explains in the March issue of Equestrian Life magazine, in order to be nominated for team selection, riders must secure two scores over 67% in a CPEDI3* (or above) Grand Prix A or Grand Prix B test during the qualifying period (1 October 2023 to 19 June 2024), and must attend two CPEDIs (CPEDI3* and above) between 1 January and 19 June 2024. Sharon and Shroomy’s results mean they are well on the way to ticking off these requirements!

Furst Crusador, aka ‘Shroomy’, is a UK-based German-bred 13-year-old Hanoverian gelding by Fuerst Nymphenburg out of Lillyfee. He is owned by Charlotte Lassetter of Lassetter Dressage, and is trained and competed by Daryl Ware.

Melissa Cannon is also competing at Addington CPEDI and finished fourth in both the CPEDI3* Grade V Grand Prix A and B tests with scores of 65.983% and 64.956% aboard Quentino 43.

Freestyle day

Wednesday (local time) is Freestyle day at Addington, and both Sharon and Melissa are set to compete in their respective grades at the following times:

Sharon Jarvis and Furst Crusador: 1.58pm Wednesday GMT, 12.58am Thursday AEDT

Melissa Cannon and Quentino 43: 3.26pm Wednesday GMT, 2.26am Thursday AEDT
