Australia’s team dressage result at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games has been altered from tenth to ninth after the Belgian team’s original fifth placing was apparently lowered to tenth following a rider’s disqualification.

The Australian team was comprised of Jayden Brown and WillingaPark Quincy B, Will Matthew and Mysterious Star, and Simone Pearce and Destano. The trio made the Grand Prix Special team final in Paris, and originally placed tenth on 207.203 points.

The FEI has since updated the results in its competition database.

Domien Michiels of the Belgian team returned a positive drug test on 3 August 2024 and was disqualified from the team final on 22 January 2025 – resulting in the FEI updating its database record. It is believed the rider tested positive to a prohibited substance listed under diuretics and masking agents on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list. Eurodressage has been following this story closely and broke the news of the FEI database change on 20 March.
