The Netherlands announces dressage long list for Tokyo

The Dutch Equestrian Federation has announced the long list of dressage combinations vying for Tokyo team selection.

The Dutch team trainer, Alex van Silfhout, has selected 11 riders for the long list – from which three (plus one travelling reserve) will ultimately make the Olympic team.

The Dutch long-listed combinations are:

  •     Marlies van Baalen  – Ben Johnson, Go Legend
  •     Adelinde Cornelissen – Aqiedo, Zephyr, Fleau de Baian, Govenor-STR
  •     Edward Gal – Toto Jr,  Total US
  •     Dinja van Liere – Hermes, Haute Couture
  •     Patrick van der Meer  – Chinook
  •     Anne Meulendijks – Avanti
  •     Hans Peter Minderhoud – Dream Boy, Zonik
  •     Denise Nekeman – Boston STH
  •     Emmelie Scholtens  – Desperado **has since withdrawn due to minor horse injury**
  •     Madeleine Witte-Vrees – Cennin
  •     Thamar Zweistra  – Hexagons Double Dutch

Here in Australia, a long list is yet to be announced. The Nomination date is 21 June; this is the date possible team candidates must be submitted to the FEI. The sports entry deadline, which is when the AOC must submit entries to the Games, is 5 July.
